FundayFinder (“FundayFinder,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a personalized family-activity planner for South Florida. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using FundayFinder, you agree to this policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

Who this service is for

FundayFinder is designed for parents, guardians, and caregivers who are 18 or older. It is not directed to children, and children should not use it to create accounts or submit information. While you may tell us a child’s approximate age so we can suggest age-appropriate activities, the account and all data belong to you, the adult user.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to plan activities for your family:

• •Account information. Your email address, which you use to sign in via a one-time “magic link” (we don’t use passwords).
• •Family profile. The information you enter to personalize suggestions: a nickname and birth month for each child (used to calculate an approximate age — we do not ask for a child’s full birth date or name), your home city, your typical free-time windows, an optional nap window, and your activity preferences.
• •Activity data. The plans we generate for you, the outings you log (“tried it” ratings and notes), and spots you save or suggest.
• •Community content. Reviews and spot suggestions you choose to submit, along with any display name you provide. Approved reviews and spots are visible to other users.
• •Notification data. If you enable them, your email preference and — for weather alerts — a browser push subscription for your device.
• •Payment information. If you subscribe to Premium, our payment processor (Stripe) handles your card details. We never see or store your full card number; we retain only your subscription status and identifiers needed to manage billing.
• •Technical data. Standard information your browser and our hosting provider record automatically, such as IP address, device/browser type, and basic usage logs, used for security and reliability. We also store data locally in your browser (via local storage) so the app works quickly and offline.

We do not collect precise GPS location. “Location” means only the city you type in, used to tailor suggestions and weather.

How we use your information

• •To build and personalize your weekly plans and activity suggestions.
• •To run core features: accounts, syncing across your devices, and family sharing.
• •To send you service messages and, if you don’t opt out, a weekly plan email; and, if you opt in, weather-change push notifications.
• •To process subscriptions and manage billing through Stripe.
• •To moderate community reviews and spot suggestions for quality and safety.
• •To maintain security, prevent abuse, fix bugs, and improve the service.
• •To comply with legal obligations.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show advertising. We share information only in these limited ways:

• •Service providers who operate the app on our behalf, including Supabase (authentication and database), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email delivery), Stripe (payments), and Google (place photos and hours). They may only use your data to provide services to us.
• •Community features. Reviews and spot suggestions you submit, once approved, are shown publicly along with any display name you chose. Don’t include information you want to keep private.
• •Legal and safety. When required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users, the public, or FundayFinder.
• •Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

Third-party venues, events, and deals

FundayFinder links to third-party venues, city event calendars, and deals — including occasional affiliate links, from which we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We don’t control those third parties or their privacy practices. Their information may be inaccurate or out of date, and their websites have their own policies. Please review them.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can erase your on-device data anytime from the Profile screen, and you can ask us to delete your account and associated data (see “Your choices”). We may retain limited records as required for legal, tax, or security purposes.

Your choices

• •Access & update: edit your profile anytime in the app.
• •Emails: turn the weekly email on/off from your Profile, or click “unsubscribe” in any email.
• •Push: disable weather alerts from your Profile or your browser settings.
• •Delete: use “Reset all data” in Profile, or email us to request full account deletion.
• •Regional rights: depending on where you live (for example, California or the EU/UK), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise them; we won’t discriminate against you for doing so.

Security

We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.

Children’s privacy

FundayFinder is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. The child-related data we hold (a nickname and birth month) is provided by you, the parent or guardian, to personalize suggestions. If you believe a child has provided us information directly, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Where your data is handled

FundayFinder is operated from the United States, and your information is processed here. If you access the service from outside the U.S., you understand your data will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll revise the “Effective” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
